I am a 30 year old professional software dev that works with the "backend of the frontend", which is to say I am a Typescript dev that builds things using lower level browser APIs rather than making flashy sites. I plan on this site being a love letter in general to the afternoons I spent using Microsoft Picture It and Geocities, watching the music visualizers on Windows Media Player while listening to my two Backstreet Boys CDs, playing Neopets and games on CDs, and wasting my dad's printer paper by printing out DLL files to look at the wingdings.
redhawk2000 (then spelled redhalk2000 because I was 5 years old and couldn't spell "hawk", but I could spell "talk") was my very first username: it was my elementary school mascot at the time and the year! I think I made the username for a Yahoo/Geocities account, but I can't be sure anymore. What Y2K websites did a technologically-precocious kindergartener need to sign up for back then anyway??
Also I'd like to apologize to the random school whose database I messed up by deleting one of their tables when I was about 12. I saw people talking about doing so on a forum and tried out one of the queries someone posted, got a message on their DB frontend that said "DROP TABLE 1", went "cool! Dunno what that means", and left. I basically Little Bobby Tables-ed them and had no idea.
